Biography

Tsering is a contemporary artist from Mustang region of Nepal. He is the founder of Chhoser Arts and the founding chairperson of Lo-Mustang Welfare Trust. He specializes in traditional thangka art, traditional decorative wall art, and fine art. With his exceptional skills, Tsering has adorned several Buddhist monasteries, private residences, and institutions of Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara and Mustang.

Tsering's artistic journey has been marked by several successful exhibitions, beginning with his first solo exhibition at the Taragaon Museum in 2018, followed by subsequent exhibitions at the Zong Cave in 2019, Hotel Barahi in 2020, and in Nagoya, Toyokawa, Japan, on March 18, 2023. His work has received widespread recognition and admiration, making him one of the most sought-after artists from Mustang. Along with the exceptional arts, he is involved in various kinds of social work in Mustang.

Prior to his artistic journey in Nepal, Tsering lived abroad for four years. However, driven by a deep sense of connection to his birth place and homeland, he decided to return and passionately pursued art as a career. Today, Tsering stands as an inspirational figure, actively encouraging and motivating youths to make better impact in Nepal.

In addition to his artistic pursuits, Tsering has lead several art workshops to students, monks and nuns in the Mustang Region. Recently, Tsering delivered a presentation on Mustang Arts, focusing on the murals of the Mustang region at the National Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) on December 7, 2023.
